You can find lighter windbreakers on the market, but the lighter pieces are always a little bit poorer - often lacking hoods, drawstrings, pockets, etc.

TheRab Vital Windshell Hoody Women's has everything you'll need on windy days in the mountains. Rab used a proprietary Atmos™ material with a fluorocarbon-free DWR treatment to make this jacket. This has reduced costs and managed to keep the weight consistently low.

The material has very similar properties to Pertex. The DWR water repellent treatment works great, so light rain will be no problem for the jacket. It's superbly breathable, so you won't be drowning in your own sweat even during more active movement. At the same time, the material is very easy to pack, so the jacket won't take up too much space in your backpack. You can pack the whole jacket into the bag that is included in the jacket.

Rab has put a lot of effort into the technical aspect. The full length YKK zipper, 2 side pockets and the elasticated hood are particularly hilarious. This has a fixed hood including a back adjustment with velcro. The hood will thus hold up even in very strong winds. Under the main YKK zipper there is a wind flap.

Very clever is the snap closure in the chest area, thanks to which you can adjust the ventilation in different ways. The sleeves have elasticated cuffs and, as is usual with Rab, are long enough. The bottom of the jacket can be easily pulled down thanks to the integrated drawcord.
