    Fenix HL18R-T V2.0 Rechargeable Headlamp

The compact Fenix HL18R-T V2.0 rechargeable headlamp features a practical design with two reflectors, a light output of up to 800 lumens (ANSI), and a beam distance of up to 125 meters. The reflectors create well-focused beams of light that shine both far and near at the same time. The main reflector shines with a cool white light of approximately 6500K (so-called daylight white) and the secondary reflector shines with a warm white light with a shade of approximately 3000K (however, the cones cannot be combined). Warm light penetrates fog, rain, and snow better, so you can use it especially in bad weather conditions. The main reflector offers four lighting modes and a maximum luminous flux of up to 800 lumens, while the second reflector offers a maximum output of 500 lumens and a choice of four lighting modes. The headlamp also features a red light, red SOS flashing, and a whistle integrated into the strap for emergency situations. Power is provided by a replaceable 1900 mAh Li-ion battery, which is charged via a USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. The battery can be removed and replaced with three AAA batteries in an emergency (they cannot be charged in the headlamp).

Like other Fenix trail headlamps, the HL18R-T V2.0 features a strap with a Sport Fit System with a single wheel for easy length adjustment. This allows you to quickly and comfortably tighten the headlamp on your head with one hand. The strap is also perforated and equipped with reflective elements that ensure good passive visibility. Thanks to its lighter weight and design, the headlamp is particularly interesting for trail running, cycling, and skiing. It is also suitable for other sports activities (hiking, climbing, camping, fishing...). It is guaranteed to serve you well in every situation!

All headlamp parameters (light output, battery life, water resistance, afterglow, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

    Wide range of applications

Switching on/off and switching modes - the white remote spotlight is switched on by holding down the right button (approx. 0.5 seconds), the warm white spotlight is switched on by holding down the left button (0.5 seconds). The spotlights cannot be switched on at the same time, but you can easily switch between them by pressing the button for the opposite spotlight. The headlamp can be turned on to red light by quickly pressing any button twice. Light modes can be switched by briefly pressing the button of the illuminated spotlight. The light can be turned off again by holding the corresponding button for 0.5 seconds.

Lock/unlock - locking: Slide the lock switch down in line with the mark, the headlamp will flash 4 times in low warm white light mode to indicate that it is locked. If the headlamp was on, it will automatically turn off when locked. Unlocking: Slide the lock switch up according to the mark, and the lamp will flash 4 times in low warm white light mode to indicate unlocking.

Memory for the last power mode setting - the headlamp has a memory and will turn on in the last power mode setting of the corresponding reflector.

Replacing batteries - open the rear battery cover and insert the battery/batteries in accordance with the polarity markings. Replace the rear cover.

Charging - remove the dust cover and connect the USB-C charging cable to the headlamp's charging port. When charging is complete, replace the dust cover. The normal charging time is 3 hours with a 5V/1A USB power source for a completely discharged headlamp. During charging, the headlamp can only be used in low mode with any reflector. Four indicators light up and flash sequentially during the charging process. Four continuously lit indicators indicate that charging is complete.

Battery charge status indicator - Pressing any button briefly (the headlamp must be turned off) activates the battery charge status LED indicator between the buttons. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit LEDs indicate 60-80%, two lit LEDs indicate 40-60%, one lit LED indicates 20-40%, and one flashing LED indicates that the battery is less than 20% charged. The indicator only works with the original battery.

Smart overheating protection - when the headlamp is used for a long time at high power modes, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 55°C or higher, it automatically reduces the power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C, the power is gradually reduced again.

Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power level is reached, the battery charge indicator will flash to remind you to recharge or replace the battery in time. Works only with the original battery.

Low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power mode is reached, the battery charge indicator will start flashing to remind you to recharge or replace the battery in time. Only works with the original battery.

Headband - The headband is assembled at the factory. To tighten the headband, turn the wheel counterclockwise. To loosen the strap, turn the wheel clockwise. Continuing to turn the wheel after the strap is fully loosened will begin to tighten the strap again, reversing the direction of loosening and tightening.

    Use

The battery compartment may contain a black insulating cap from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.

To turn on the headlamp, hold the button down for 0.5 seconds to activate the last used white light mode.

A switched-off headlamp will switch on to the last used red light mode by pressing the button twice quickly.

A switched-on headlamp will switch off by holding the button down for 0.5 seconds.

When the headlamp is switched on, short presses of the button cycle through the power modes in the order 3 - 50 - 150 - 400 - 700 lumens (when switched on to white light) or red 1 lumen - red 5 lumens - red flashing - red SOS (when switched on in red light). The flashlight has a memory and always turns on in the last set mode (applies to both white and red light).

Overheating protection: Operation in the highest mode is limited to 1 minute, after which the output is gradually reduced to approx. 500 lumens within 5 minutes. If the internal temperature of the flashlight rises above 60°C, it will automatically continue to reduce the output in gradual steps until the temperature stabilizes. Once the temperature of the flashlight drops below 60°C, the power will gradually increase again. Operation in 400 lumen mode is limited to 5 minutes, after which the power will gradually decrease to 200 lumens within 5 minutes.

Battery charge status indicator: Pressing the button briefly (the headlamp must be turned off) activates the LED indicator in the button. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is more than 80% charged. A green flashing light indicates 50-80% capacity. If it lights up red, it is charged to 20-50%. A red flashing light indicates that less than 20% of the battery capacity remains. The indicator only works correctly with rechargeable RCR123A / 16340 batteries.

Charging: Remove the rubber cover from the charging connector and connect the included cable to the flashlight (USB-C connector). Connect the other end of the cable to a computer, power bank, or USB adapter for use with a power outlet or car (not included). During charging, the side button lights up red, and when fully charged, it lights up green. After charging the flashlight, reseal the charging connector with the rubber cover. Charging a fully discharged battery takes approximately 1.5 hours. In an emergency, the headlamp can be used while charging, but only the 5-lumen white mode and red modes will be available.

Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to lower power modes. If the headlamp is already switched to the lowest power mode and the battery is critically low, the indicator in the button will start flashing red. However, the headlamp will continue to shine until the battery is completely discharged. Note: The low battery warning is calibrated only for the voltage of rechargeable Li-ion batteries.

Locking the headlamp to prevent accidental switching on: Loosen the headlamp battery cover by a quarter turn to break the electrical contact and prevent the headlamp from being switched on. The button can also be locked electronically – with the headlamp switched off, hold the button down for 3 seconds. After locking, the headlamp will flash red. To unlock, hold the button down for 3 seconds again.

    Warning:

Do not disassemble sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.

Fenix recommends using the original Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery, which is of excellent quality.

Remove the battery from the headlamp if you will not be using it for a long time or if the battery is dead. Disposable batteries may leak and damage the headlamp.

Lock the headlamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.

Never use AAA batteries with different discharge levels or batteries with different capacities.

Always check carefully that you are inserting the batteries into the headlamp with the correct polarity.

If the headlamp flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons: The battery is almost dead – recharge it.
