The Fenix MHM65R-T is an uncompromising multi-purpose headlamp for active movement. Ideal for all types of cycling, trail running and similar activities in rugged terrain. It's waterproof, drop-resistant and thanks to a pull-down wheel (similar to the one on helmets) , it stays perfectly where it should.

The headlamp has two state-of-the-art LEDs. One shines into the distance in a cone shape, the other diffusely into space. Each LED has 3 light intensities and you control each LED separately so you can choose different combinations of light to suit your needs. The headlamp is extremely versatile.

Also included is a rechargeable Li-on battery that charges in just 3 hours via the USB-C connector. All this is wrapped in a magnesium alloy body with a 5-year warranty. The battery is guaranteed for 2 years.

Detailed description

The Fenix HM65R-T rechargeable headlamp has a body made of lightweight magnesium alloy. It is highly water and drop resistant, has a unique dual reflector design with a total output of up to 1500 lumens. One reflector produces a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 170 meters, and the second reflector has a very wide and smooth light trail. The main beam reflector has a lumen output of up to 1300 lumens, while the wide cone reflector offers a maximum output of 400 lumens and a neutral light tint.

The control of the two LEDs is independent of each other, you can combine the light from both reflectors freely and achieve a luminous flux of up to 1500 lumens (when both reflectors are switched on at the same time, their max output is 1150 + 350 lumens). Both main beam and wide beam offer three lighting modes.

A single 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh is used for power, which is included in the package and is charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. In an emergency, the headlamp can also be powered by two disposable CR123A batteries.

The headlamp is made of magnesium alloy, which is one third lighter than aluminium. Its construction is fully dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 2 meters according to IP68 standard, and also shockproof against falls from a height of 2 meters. The headlamp is also equipped with an innovative extended endurance function. With prolonged use of each light mode, the headlamp gradually reduces power in small increments to achieve longer light duration. The optional light cone shape makes this model one of the best and most versatile rechargeable headlamps on the market.

A new feature of this model is the rotary wheel strap tightening system which is not only fast but also very convenient. Thanks to its lighter weight and design, the HM65R-T is particularly interesting for trail running. It is also suitable for professional use and various other sports activities (hiking, camping, cycling, cross-country skiing, fishing...).

All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range and shock resistance) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009.

Parameters of the Fenix HM65R-T Rechargeable Headlamp

• The light source in the high beam reflector is a white Luminus SST40 LED, the source in the wide beam reflector is a Cree XP-G2 S3 with a neutral light tint, both with a 50,000-hour light life.
• 1300 lumens (4 hours) -> 400 lumens (12 hours) -> 130 lumens (24 hours)
• Wide reflector: 400 lumens (12 hours) -> 70 lumens (33 hours) -> 5 lumens ( 300 hours).
• The main reflector produces a light cone with a range of 170 metres (7261 cd), the wide reflector shines up to 54 metres (737 cd).
• The headlamp comes with a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh.
• Any Fenix 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery from our range can be purchased as a replacement battery.
• Alternatively, two disposable CR123A lithium batteries can be used for power (do not attempt to recharge them in the headlamp).
• Due to the mechanical protection against reverse polarity, the batteries must have a protruding positive terminal. Older Fenix batteries with a flat plus pole cannot therefore be used.

How to use the Fenix HM65R-T headlamp

There may be a black insulating cap on the battery pack at the factory. Remove it from the battery pack before first use.

The high beam headlamp is switched on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5s), the wide beam headlamp is switched on by holding the left button (0.5s). The headlamp will always switch on in the lowest power mode. The light functions are switched by briefly pressing the corresponding button. Both headlights can be switched on at the same time.

Battery indication - After a short press of any button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED battery indicator between the buttons is activated. Four lit LEDs indicate the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates the battery is less than 20% charged.

Control buttonThe reader can be locked, to prevent it from switching on spontaneously, e.g. when transporting in luggage - in the off state, press both buttons and hold them for min 3 seconds, then the headlamp will flash to indicate locking. To unlock, both buttons must be held down again for three seconds.

Overheat protection: if the temperature of the headlamp exceeds 65°C it will automatically start to reduce power in gradual steps until the temperature stabilises. Once the temperature drops below 65°C the power output will increase again gradually.

Low battery warning: when the voltage drops below a certain threshold, it will automatically switch to a lower power mode, if the battery status indicator starts flashing during the light, the battery is almost dead.

Charging. When charging is complete, all four are lit. It takes approximately 3 hours to charge a fully discharged battery.

Use the rotary wheel to adjust the length of the head strap: To tighten the strap, press the wheel and turn it clockwise. To loosen the strap, pull the wheel up and loosen the strap.

• Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, this will violate the warranty.
• Use only high quality Li-ion 18650 batteries, if using disposable CR123A batteries, do not attempt to charge them in the headlamp.
• If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
• The battery is dead - charge it or replace it.
• The contacts inside the headlamp are dirty - clean them with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol.
