Rab Kinetic Alpine 2.0 waterproof trousers

The Kinetic Alpine 2.0 trousers are an excellent match for the Kinetic Alpine 2.0 jacket, and the main material is the three-layer Proflex™ laminate.

This is made up of two stretch nylon fabrics in the trousers. The outer, which is more durable and stiffer, and the inner, which is softer and more breathable. In between is the polyurethane membrane itself, which gives the trousers a water column of 20,000 mm.

In the mechanically stressed areas (the front of the trousers and the rear), an even stronger nylon fibre is used to provide better abrasion resistance. You'll appreciate this especially when climbing or ski touring.

TheRab Kinetic Alpine 2.0 trousers are extremely stretchy and also achieve a very good breathability of 20,000 g/m2 in 24 hours.

They feature two side pockets with waterproof YKK zippers and one hidden back pocket. The waist is tightened by an integrated belt that tightens in one place only, even with gloves. The drawstring is positioned so that it does not interfere with the climbing harness.

The trousers are slightly raised at the back and have an overall higher cut. The cut is intentionally looser around the hips to allow for layering. You can add, for example, Rab Forge underpants in the cold.

The trousers are unzipped by two metal patches and a flap with a waterproof YKK zipper. The lower part of the trousers has short zippers that allow the leg to be opened when used with high boots. The inner part of the trousers around the ankles is reinforced with thicker nylon to increase durability.

      Use of trousers

Like the Kinetic Alpine 2.0 jacket, the Kinetic Alpine 2.0 trousers are designed for low and high frequency activities throughout the year. They find their use in the changeable conditions of spring and autumn, when temperatures fluctuate and when showers alternate with clear skies.

In winter, they can serve as excellent external protection against wind and wet snow, and in summer they can also find a place as a reliable outer layer during short showers. However, the reinforced panels and slightly higher weight make the Kinetic Alpine 2.0 pants especially suited to activities that place higher demands on the material and require greater durability. This makes them ideal for winter and summer climbing, feratinos or skialps.

The Kinetic Alpine 2.0 also serves well for activities such as light hiking, running or cross-country skiing. For these activities you can also choose the lighter Kinetic 2.0 model.
