In international tests, the jacket is highly rated, especially thanks to its ventilation system, perfect protection against adverse weather conditions and wearing comfort for a wide range of mountain and mountaineering activities. Why? Because it has totally unique underarm ventilation zips that are so long you can pull your arms completely out of the sleeves. In Rab they call it the "Escape Artist". In short, you can get your hands out of the jacket even though you're still wearing it. When you unzip the main zipper at the bottom, it's like actually taking the jacket off while still having your pack on your back and not having to stop at all.
Thejacket has a higher grammage and is equipped with everything you might need in the mountains. The jacket's material is a durable three-layer Pertex Shield 3L with a 20,000/ 20,000 rating. The fabric is a bit stretchy and pleasantly soft for its weight and durability. Despite the robust processing, this is still a jacket that is under 500g in the women's version!
The zippers are YKK branded and there are high-set pockets in the front, so you can get into them even with your pack's hip belt on. It has fairly long sleeves and back. The hood is big so you can hide even with a helmet and it adjusts nicely.
